| My 10 month old has outgrown her prince lionheart sleepsacks. I bought one of these to try out. These are spectacular sacks. The zipper is high quality and works flawlessly. There are snaps on both shoulders plus a safety snap over the zip closure. The zipper goes down one side, across the bottom and partially up the other side. You could get even the squirmiest baby into this. The length is generous which is a real plus for our tall baby. The weight is perfect for warm summer nights in the South. It's made of two layers of soft jersey knit (t-shirt material). I like that they use a standard warmth rating. This is well designed and of high quality. |

| We really like Grobag sleeping bags. This is the second one we've purchased for our son and we're happy with the weight and fit. We tried Halo sleep sacks, but found that they ride up over our son's face which makes me nervous, and tend to be a bit short in length. Grobag sleep sacks are longer (very long, in fact) so that our son has lots of space to move his legs. They also stay put under his chin so that his mouth and nose don't get covered. The weight for this one (0.5 tog) is comparable to a cotton Halo sleep sack or slightly heavier. We're also happy with the side zipper and shoulder snaps which make it easy to get our baby in and out of the sleeping bag. These cost more than Halo sleep bags, but are of higher overall quality and are worth the extra cost. |

| The grobag is probably great for a cold night, but way too thick for the summer season. It is also huge! I don't see how it can possibly be suitable for a newborn. It is sooo long. Once my baby grows a bit, I will probably try it again. |

Merino Wool is a superior fabric for your next baby sleeping bag and I am going to give you 4 reasons why I think that. First of all, and this isn’t one of the four, is merino wool is the Cadillac of materials for your next baby sleep sack. It wasn’t till the 18th century that the valued merino sheep started to gain popularity when they were given as gifts from the king of Spain to their cousins in other countries that then they discovered the wonders of this amazing fabric.
Lightweight Insulation
The fibers have small scales that make it so air is harder to pass through making it better insulation. It also has air spaces in it making it incredibly light weight.
Allergy Safe
Most wools have a bad misconception that they are scratchy and uncomfortable. Some people think that it is due to allergies. It is not due to allergies or is it specific to wool. It is due to the fibers in the fabric not bending when they contact the skin. Fine Australian wools. like Merino wool, have superfine fibers and a silky outer layer that make it feel super soft and itch free. This is especially good for babies with eczema, allergies and sensitive skin.
Naturally Fire Resistant
It may be hard to realize that wool is naturally fire resistant, but it is! If a fire is to strike the fabric the chemicals react with combustible gases and tars normally generated by the material. The tars are converted to carbon char which forms on the surface, slowing the burning rate . The combustible gases are rendered nonflammable for the most part due to dilution with harmless carbon dioxide and water vapor released in the reaction. This happens automatically, driven by the heat of the fire, and requires no coating maintenance, batteries, or plumbing; it is true passive protection.Synthetic materials often require extra chemicals to make them fire retardant and who wants unnecessary chemicals next to their baby?
Ability to Regulate Temperature
Using Merino wool for your baby sleeping bag creates the perfect micro-climate for your baby. It is so amazing that it will release heat and moisture into the air if the room temperature rises and it will trap the air in the sleep sack if the temperature in the room lowers. One thing we didn’t talk about yet is cost. This fabric can get rather expensive but I believe that it is worth it. All of these benefits that I talked about before all happen naturally. I think this is absolutely amazing! I only talked about 4 of the benefits of this amazing fabric and there are many more.

My wife and I bought this sleep sack as a gift for my niece on her 2nd birthday. My sister liked the one we have for our baby boy and we've found it really helps him sleep well through the night, so couldn't resist getting one for her.
They think it's great and say that it helps their daughter sleep in for longer in the morning because she is so cosy and warm :). I was concerned that she might not like wearing it since she is a real wriggler, but she thinks it's fun to get into at night (and it helps that it is her favorite color)! We will definitely be using Merino Kids sleep sacks till our boy outgrows them, they are a quality product. |
